Meet the Ambassadors
Shantoya Adams
ShanToya Adams grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma and after graduating high school moved to Oklahoma City to attend the University of Central Oklahoma. In 2018, Toya earned her degree in Interpersonal Communication. She has been a Permanency Planning Specialist for Oklahoma Department of Human Services since 2020. Toya also is the Events Coordinator for SkyZone Trampoline Park since 2015.
Toya has been a mentor for the Urban League children’s organization, Freedom Dance Studio and been an Ambassador for the Knowing Your Worth Inc. 501(c)(3) since 2017. In her free time, Toya loves to spend time with family, coordinate events/parties and is looking forward to finishing her journey on becoming a licensed Birthing Doula and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist.
Toya is passionate about mentoring the younger generation because she wants them to know that everyone has a story to tell and the importance of continuing to live their lives one day at a time!
Alyssa Omar
Alyssa Omar received her associates degree in General Studies from Oklahoma State University Oklahoma City and then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Oklahoma where she received her degree in Family Life Education with an emphasis on marriage and family. She is currently attending Simmons University where she is working towards her master’s in social work. In her downtime, Alyssa loves to spend time with her 8 ½ yr. old daughter AKA “mini me” and her fiancé. They love to spend family time outdoors and traveling. She is a self-proclaimed “dairy-free pescatarian” who lost over 100 pounds to live a healthier life for her daughter. Alyssa plans on opening a domestic abuse shelter in Edmond, OK for mother’s and their children once she graduates. Her passion of strengthening the family unit will be of value in this endeavor, and we are glad to have her on the team.
Tobie Mitchell
Tobie Mitchell was born and raised on the Northeast side of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she graduated from Northeast Academy in 2016 with an emphasis on Health Sciences. In December of 2019, she graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She is currently enrolled at Langston University, working towards a Master's Degree focused on Urban Education. Along with being a full time student, owning and operating Sitter Solutions (a nanny placement agency), and writing a children's book, Tobie is a third grade teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School. She says her students and their growth is what keeps her going. Tobie also heads the One Little Person Scholarship Fund that focuses on being the one little person for African American students in Oklahoma. She is determined to help as many students as possible pursue higher education, with limited cost to them. When she finds free time, Tobie loves to read, binge watch Netflix with her husband, try different restaurants, and decorate her house. Her favorite quote is, “The question isn’t who’s going to let me, but who is going to stop me.”
Knowing Your Worth Inc is a 501c3 organization. Our mission is to uplift young girls, to teach them to always maintain self-esteem, self-confidence and to always know their worth. This is taught through workshops and mentorship, to brand future confident women. "
